We all love those chance encounters where something clicks and you suddenly find yourself in a whirlwind holiday romance.
Swin Wear’s almost self titled (I hope its Swimwear by Swim Wear rather than the other way around) new single, tells a tale inspired by lead vocalist’s Iwan Grant’s experience while on holiday in Barcelona. Don’t worry though dear reader, the tale in this tune is more sweet and euphoric rather than be Gaudi.
Like any encounter, this tune starts fairly slowly with a preamble story about how a friend joins their group and a conversation develops. The tune then develops into a lively bouncy summertime banger.

Having seen Swim Wear live, this track is just perfect for the bouncing happy mood that the band weaves from the stage.
I do have to remark what a difference a few years makes. I remember Leeds based San Francisco’s first release, deeply indie, hesitant and understated. Iwan shared a snippet of the original version of this track Swimwear, and the bands current vigour has given it a huge new blast of energy and summer fizz.

A name change, a full band line up, and some class gigs under their belt, and Swim Wear have turned a pair of rough baggies into speedos.
I know those Swim Wear guys have big plans, and Swimwear the single launches the new era for the band with a splash. Can’t wait to see what’s next.
